The main book for the exercise is in Japanese only (of course like the JLPT) but they give you an example of what to do to each exercise. BUT: -you have to look up a lot of words in the dictionary as well. -I have something called :“Kanji of the day“ I write it down on a post it, including the stroke order and practice it with my writing practice notebook. .

The CD was very helpful to practice the pronounciation as well. I went on and bought an extra grammar book to fill that gap. 3- the grammar section was kept very short and precisely. The Japanese exercise book comes with a booklet answer at the end of the book, which is of course in japanese.

Minna no Nihongo provides a lot of chapters and includes short grammar sections each. I would recommend it to anyone who is willingly enough to do more outside the book to understand the grammar and finally write in Japanese. The grammar section it's nice and helps to really understand the meaning of the word/particle. (That's what I'm doing) There's some kanji but with the hiragana above so, it doesn't matter if you can't read kanji.

2- listening parts helps developing the listening comprehension skills. You have sentences set as an example. The media could not be loaded.

You have to write down a lot. It's not complicated. Also, there's in each (25) lesson some useful words and information. I personally liked the order of the chapters:1-introducing the main theme of the chapter with sentences set as examples.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to buy it because of many bad reviews here but turns out it wasn't a big deal. Tho I can't use the CD because I have nothing to play it, it's super easy to find the MP3 on the web. That kept me from restraining to learn the Kanji. So there is no Romaji included which made me relieved.
