This will also help with wind (ideally I face the umbrella toward the wind so that any force is pushing it closed, not open like a sail. The chair is Tommy Bahama (with cooler pocket). The stake is to large to insert in the middle of a table to enjoy a rainy day in the outdoors.

This thing is way better than those plastic wrapped umbrellas you buy at any of the tourist traps. I will be using this again next vacation since it did fit in the suit case and some places do not have umbrellas. So glad I did. it went into the sand and did not move.

Definitely recommend. And it fits in a large suitcase. I was skeptical about purchasing this after reading some reviews. Wow this thing is actually really really easy to put together.

Folds up compactly in a carry bag. I bought it to fit in the back of a very small sports car and it fits great, lightweight and about as durable as you'd expect from any beach umbrella. I can't complain. I’m comfortable and in shade the entire day.

And it’s really big. It's probably obvious, but just in case it isn't, the higher the umbrella sits the more shade you can produce. Two months later and two overseas trips, Definitely will recommend!

) Likewise, keeping the umbrella lower keeps it more stable on those windy carribean days. Our trip to the beach this year was by plane rather than car so I needed two umbrellas that were small enough to pack in luggage.
