There was something about the number 13 drawing me towards the book and then the caption underneath about the killer on the jury closed the deal. Because whilst the lawyers prepare for the trial of the century, the killer has set his plan in motion.

At times it felt like A LOT with gorier details being sprinkled frequently through the book so it was a book I had to take in strides at the beginning (but if you can handle it it’s a read in 1 or two days kind of book)! Great plot, believable characters, twists and turns that I didn’t see coming.

On the other hand, is the killer that's behind all of the sinister events that unfold. It's fast-paced, with no dull fillers, the only thing I found disappointing was that it had to end. i want to marry eddie flynn.

I would give it extra stars if I could because even though I’ve not yet read books 1 - 3 in the series it didn’t matter at all. The lucidity of the narrative is lost towards the climax. The characters were great; they made this a deliciously frustrating read, in the best possible way. I’ll definitely pick up Cavanagh’s next Eddie Flynn novel, and any other standalones or series he writes, because he certainly knows how to write a book that ensnares a reader.

It kept me guessing and playing out possible scenarios what til the very end when I was sure I “knew” what was going to happen 60% in (naive me 😂)! Written well and the suspense is maintained till the end. <3also amazing and gripping plot lol It wasn't that it wasn't believable, but I feel it was questionable – I wasn't fully convinced a certain someone wouldn't notice they'd been disarmed.

This was crazily good. I really enjoyed this.
