They fascinated us all from 4 to 74 years of age. I bought this for my green-fingered niece years later, and the caterpillars are on their way to her now! I was going nowhere near them even in this state so my husband did the transfer to the net cage. They don't stay small.

The 3 year old has loved it too. Even with my hatred of caterpillars this set is fascinating. Just enter the code online and pay a small delivery fee. Thankfully that didn't happen.

I had images of the pot being knocked over and them escaping and crawling all over me. The media could not be loaded. So this product is for the plastic and net pop up Butterfly home and a voucher for some caterpillars.

Rayray

I was bought this in my early twenties, and the best thing about this is that the enclosure can be reused with other species of native moth and butterfly that can be purchased online elsewhere after the original caterpillars have grown and subsequently been released into their natural environment. It was like something out of a horror film. About a week later however we have 5 lovely butterflies (1 with a slightly damaged wing) and the caterpillar phase is nearly forgotten. They kind of wiggle up and down creating a banging noise on the plastic lid.

I do like the fact you can do this again and again with the butterfly net thingy but really you need to make sure you get a butterfly feeder as I've resorted to tissues on a plate with oranges nearby! 99 postage - expensive. In addition to do it again it will cost £11.

They grow into big fat hairy horrid caterpillars that were always in eyeline. ). But I knew the toddler would like them so we got this set for his birthday. We had 2 of these, one a gift from someone else, but they were both for a 4 year old.

99 plus £2. My son and daughter have loved watching them and are now obsessed with seeing them eating and flying. I advise everyone, it is very interesting to watch how the caterpillars turn into butterflies before our eyes!
