To sum it up, this product does the job, but it requires the cleat hooks to make it practical/usable. After Nearly 8 years of use, being left out over winter and being used weekly over summer/spring this has finally needing replacing. For the price plus a separate hook for €3, this is pretty good.

Without the DIY setup, it doesn't take much weight before the line starts to drop and your clothing touches the ground. 5 months in. I find the black clips fail after a couple of years. It's also really easy to replace as well as it's just attached to the wall bracket by little pegs.

My little hooks on the bottom did go brittle and broke but mine had little bits broken off a few times before I had to replace it, I think it was broken for the last couple of years but still extremely usable! Great product, the unit is good and solid and the lines are strong when double looped to lock off, I wasnt doing that at first and the line tended to slip with wet towel weight, easy to install.

5 stars, but since I can't it's 4. Also saw another review about buying some cleats and attaching underneath, I probably could have got another 5 years out of it if I'd done that! I bought separately to metal hooks for a couple of pounds and installed them underneath.

The metal mount and pins that hold it are still in good condition and so just swapped it out with the new grey version as per the pictures. Took about 2 minutes to replace it! You can get the hooks for a few pound each at your local hardware shop, make sure it's galvinised; so it doesn't rust.

. We use the main line to its maximum extension and have no issues in it springing back. 5 metres and this hasn’t required a pole.
