Have tried so many different products to achieve my spiky, messy, and separated pieced out look. Yes it is a dry wax, it is hard in the jar, I just scrape it with my fingernail and get a pea sized amount, rub it with my hands and go to work on my hair. Oh and there really isn't a scent, very lightly smells like beeswax think Burt's Bees original lip balm. Most gels, creams, pomade, putty, or other soft wax products greatly weigh down my thin fine hair or make it look greasy and dirty.
It is not sticky or gummy. This lasts a very long time because such a small amount is needed, holds well throughout the day, sometimes I finish my style with a little hairspray but it is not always necessary, just when I need extra staying power. It is re-moldable so that you can change the look if you aren't happy or want a fresh look in the evening, just warm your hair with a blow dryer and restyle!
Otherwise, I have a soft touchable style. At the end of the day I can brush through it, not hard, tacky, or glued. This is the only product that does none of those things to my hair. I have been wearing a spiky pixie cut for years.
